College/Career Info

Up Next

With FAFSA registration starting on October 1 for the 2018-2019 school year, the Reach Higher team has a great tool for students. Up Next is a free, evidence-based texting tool that offers personalized support on all things related to college access and completion - college search and application, federal student aid, even student loan repayment - all through texting. It's quick and easy to enroll and costs you nothing. And we won't spam users with unnecessary messages or ads. We only share the most important reminders to keep students and parents on track to college.

  • Strongly encourage high school seniors to enroll by having them text their first and last name to this phone number: 240.623.8319.
  • Strongly encourage current college students to enroll by having them text their first and last name to this phone: 240.623.2789.

First Generation Students

Nationally, 89 percent of low-income first-generation students leave college within six years without a degree. This astonishing percentage can be easily reduced if these students are given the tools they need to succeed.

College/Career Day

On Thursday, October 26 the school districts of Attala County Schools and Kosciusko School District will sponsor a career/college day for juniors and seniors. This will introduce job possibilities and educational opportunities to students. It will also allow students to ask questions and gain needed information on an individual basis.

College Covered Tools

College Decision Day is quickly approaching as acceptance and award letters roll in. We have integrated some new tools into College Covered to make it easier for your students to make an informed choice on where they go to college.

College Info/Visits

If you are interested in visiting a college, check out the college's website for available dates and registration. We allow two (2) "college visit days" per year. Students should let Mrs. Scribner know prior to going to eliminate an unexcused absence. While visiting, students should obtain an official excuse from the college. Students will to turn this in to Mrs. Baron in the attendance office upon returning to school.
